Here at Murfreesboro Animal Clinic, we strive to strengthen and improve the mental
and physical well-being of our patients. We strive to alleviate anxiety, fear, and stress in the clinic through implementation of Fear Free techniques. We love for our patients to come see us and want to provide them with the best care possible. Part of this is helping reduce their stress in the clinic so that we can better address your pet’s medical needs. Our team is trained to advise you on how to recognize the signs of anxiety. We can advise on methods to reduce anxiety, stress, and fear during travel and upon arrival at our clinic. In some cases, if your pet has moderate to severe anxiety and fear, we may recommend starting a supplement or medication prior to arrival. In our hospital, we use scent free pheromone diffusers and sprays (Feliway and Adaptil) in our exam rooms to reduce stress during your pet’s exam.
Our team receives training in the best methods to properly hold your pet to reduce anxiety and provide for a safe, thorough examination. We realized that some patients have severe stress and anxiety when at the vet, and if necessary we may recommend a mild sedative so that your pet receives the care they need and feels calm and relaxed while doing so. Behavioral problems are the number one reason pets are given up for adoption. It is, therefore, part of our goal to offer behavioral counseling and in those rare cases, if necessary, a referral to a behavioral specialist. Talk to us today about how we can help you and your pets live happier fuller lives.
