About
  • Dr. Jarman
    Dr. Jarman was born and raised in Greenwood, Mississippi. He attended Mississippi State University for his pre-veterinary studies and admitted to the Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1969 and graduated in 1973. After graduation, he joined Dr. H.B. Smith, Jr. as an associate at Murfreesboro Animal Clinic and became a full partner in 1978. Dr. Jarman married his high school sweetie, Brenda, in 1969. They have three children Ashley, Lindsay, and Jim III. They are the proud parents of two cats Peg and U and one dog Amy. Locally, he has served as President of the Rutherford County Veterinary Society, as a member of the Rabies Control Board, as a member of the Rutherford County Board of Health, and an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 573. 
In his spare time, you can find him in the woods, on the lake, at a campground or
various sporting events (GO PREDS).

  • Dr. Lisa Bartolotto
    Dr. Lisa Bartolotto was born in Michigan and later moved to Kentucky where she met her wonderful husband and attended the University of Kentucky for her pre-vet studies in 1982. She was accepted to Auburn University Veterinary School in 1985 with early admission. She graduated in 1989 with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She did her preceptorship at Hillsboro Animal Hospital in Nashville before coming to work at Murfreesboro Animal Clinic in June of 1989. She enjoyed serving the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association as an Executive board member from 2000-2002. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and helping both pets and their caretakers cultivate their human-animal bond. She has a special interest in surgery and geriatric medicine.
She and her husband, Al have been married for over 30 years. They have a farm in Lascassas and raise black Angus cattle. They also have 2 horses, 7 dogs, 2 cats and 2 rabbits. Their English mastiff, Delilah and their yellow lab, Vanilla along with their rabbits enjoy being the center of attention at many of the local schools for presentations on veterinary medicine and animal care.

She enjoys the outdoors, hiking and biking with the family as well as quilting. They have 4 children, Michelina, Caleb, Jaylyn, and Joshua and one granddaughter, Marina. They attend church at Lascassas Baptist Church where Dr. Bartolotto enjoyed teaching 3rd and 4th grade Sunday school for 10 years. She has many pre-vet students who have worked for her over the years and enjoys teaching them about the profession.

  • Dr. Richey
    Dr. Richey is a 2015 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and native to Middle Tennessee. She moved back to Murfreesboro with her husband, Justin, and cat, Kitkat, to begin work with MAC in June 2015. She and her husband, Justin, had their first child, Clark, soon after the move. Dr. Richey has a special interest in small animal dentistry, internal and integrative medicine. She achieved advanced training in small animal dentistry through elective courses at the University of Tennessee and the University of Illinois. She took multiple externships that specialized in dentistry or had advanced dentistry capabilities. She is the 2015 recipient of the Albert S. Dorn award for Excellence in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery.
Dr. Richey believes in an integrative approach to medicine, utilizing both Western and Eastern techniques to heal and treat pets. She received special training in small and large animal acupuncture through selective rotations and externships. She uses her limited training in acupuncture and to treat geriatric arthritis, pain from IVDD, and a
variety of muscle injuries. She also promotes laser therapy which has been proven to shorten healing time on wounds, injuries, surgical sites, and alleviate pain.

  • Dr. Meagan Batey
    Dr. Meagan Batey grew up in Lascassas, Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2010, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She then went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at Oklahoma State University in 2016. Prior to joining the Murfreesboro Animal Clinic family in 2017, Dr. Batey worked at Nashville Pet Emergency Clinic. Her special interests include emergency medicine, pain management, and sports medicine and rehabilitation.
  • Dr. Batey has 3 dogs: 2 dachshunds, Layla and Zoey, and 1 mixed breed named Flea. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

  • Brittini Meziere 
  • Brittini is Indiana born and raised. She moved here in 2013 to attend MTSU for a degree in Zoology and a minor in Business. She became a team member at Murfreesboro Animal Clinic in September of 2013 and has been here ever since. Brittini met her husband in 2014 at MTSU and was married in October 2016. Her fur kids are Chewey the Mastiff, her cat Cleo, and her bearded dragon Tessie.

  • Chelsey Chavis
  • Chelsey is originally from Wichita Falls Texas. She joined MAC in 2016. With her compassionate love for animals, she chose to pursue a career as a Vet Tech. Chelsey is also Fear Free certified and is interested in furthering her education as a technician. Chelsey has a sassy black kitty named Wednesday Addams, who knows how to play fetch.

  • Jason is originally from Vermont. He has been living in Tennessee since 2007. Jason graduated from MTSU with a bachelors in animal science in 2016. He is currently working on being Fear Free certified and is excited to continue his education in the animal field.

  • Camille McKeehan
  • Camille is from Johnson City, Tennessee where she grew up on a farm with cows and horses. Now she’s studying Animal Science for pre-vet at Middle Tennessee State University. She has one dog, a husky named Mishka, and a cat named Callie. When she isn’t working or going to school, she’s benefiting the community through Kappa Delta sorority.

  • Makenzie Burrow
  • Makenzie is from Cottontown, TN and moved to Murfreesboro to attend MTSU. She is a junior pursuing a degree in Horse Science. She started working for Murfreesboro Animal Clinic in January of 2017. She is a member of the Horseman's Association Club and Alpha Chi Omega.

  • Denese Perry
  • A lifelong resident of Rutherford County, Denese became a member of Murfreesboro Animal Clinic in September 1979. Having filled many roles, she currently keeps Murfreesboro Animal Clinic running smoothly as our office manager. She married her soulmate Randy, August of 1979 and they have one child, Kevin. Animals have always been an important part of her life. Right now she enjoys having two cats, one being 18 years and the other a one year old. They are a joy in her life.

  • Steven Todd
  • Steven is originally from Meridian, Mississippi. He joined Murfreesboro Animal Clinic March of 2015. He is currently a student at Middle Tennessee State University. After graduation, he plans to go on to receive his Doctorate in veterinary medicine with the hopes of eventually opening his own clinic. Steven is excited to further his knowledge and skills while gaining hands-on experience to pursue his dream career. Steven also is a member of MTSU Equestrian Team. Even with his busy lifestyle he still loves to spend time with his fur-babies, Addison and Zee.

  • Arden was born in Paris, TN and has lived in Murfreesboro for 17 years. She has 2 cats, Gemma and Mercy, one dog, Indy, and 2 horses, Luna and Spartan. In her spare time, she is a horse trainer. Arden will be attending MTSU as a horse science major fall of 2018.

  • Morgan Richardson
  • Morgan is from Brentwood, TN where she was raised with her parents and three brothers. She came to Murfreesboro Animal Clinic in the summer of 2016 when she transferred from Belmont University to MTSU. She is now senior at MTSU studying Psychology and Biology. She lives in the area with her two-year old cat Oliver, one-year old cat Leo, and one-year old German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix Knox.

  • Rachel is a native to Murfreesboro TN. She has one dog named Sadie and a cat named Amos. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys horse showing and spending time with her niece. She plans to attend college in the fall of 2018 and major in Pre- Veterinarian medicine.
